Active in the Brazilian market for more than half a century, Disal is considered the most important distributor of books and teaching materials in Brazil for language teaching. The company has a catalog with 300 publishers and more than 300 thousand titles sold, ranging from language teaching, to technical and scientific works from various areas of knowledge.
In addition to the materials sold throughout the country, Disal also stands out among its target audience thanks to the production of two publications: the New Routes Magazine and the promotional catalog.
● The New Routes Magazine is aimed at language professionals and presents rich content through articles, research, interviews and activities prepared by renowned professionals who work nationally and internationally.
● In turn, the promotional catalog aims to promote the products for sale in e-commerce for schools and language institutes, especially teachers and educators.
In 2017, Disal set itself the goal of offering both publications as interactive digital magazines as well. Based on this definition, the company sought alternatives in the market, even using a platform exclusively for publishing the magazine, without the possibility of integrating it with an intelligent and multichannel distribution system.
“It was just a flippable PDF,” says Lyrica Seki, Marketing professional at Disal, when talking about the platform they used before getting to know iSend.
Lyrica explains that the digital magazine’s plans were only successfully executed after iSend was hired. According to her, iSend’s differential is to offer the resources of publishing interactive, truly digital magazines, on the same platform for sending E-mail Marketing.
Disal met iSend at a pivotal moment. This is because Disal was harmed by the Covid-19 pandemic in several aspects, including the distribution of the magazine and the promotional catalog in physical media.
In this context, hiring iSend was a real game-changer, as it enabled Disal to be strategically closer to the target audience with the interactive magazine, in addition to enabling the creation of the digital promotional catalog, which until then had not been possible, due to the limitations of the previous supplier.
“On the other platform there was no way to include links to the products, it didn’t make sense to have an online version if we couldn’t link the product to our website. So iSend ended up bringing this facility and saved us with this magazine”, details Lyrica, defining iSend as the solution to promote the promotional catalog in a way that generates conversion in e-commerce.

When published in the previous supplier’s tool, New Routes Magazine did not offer relevant attractions for the target audience. Thus, the average number of accesses to the magazine was 3 thousand per month.
The first digital edition of New Routes Magazine using the iSend platform was launched in January 2021. Right at launch, Disal more than doubled the average of accesses, obtaining more than 7 thousand accesses.
In addition to multiplying the results, Lyrica explains that with iSend it became possible to have access to important metrics through reports, such as the number of pages viewed, date and time of accesses, and total clicks on links.
Disal’s Marketing sector considers that iSend reports play an essential role for the company to make better decisions and prove the results obtained for advertisers. “If you are investing value, you have to bring results. The reports are a way for you to show the result of the investment that sponsors are having”, says Lyrica.
